Rena wasn’t created in a vacuum. It was born from frustration.

Across our careers, we sat inside HR and talent teams at fast-growing startups, global enterprises, and everything in between. We weren’t consultants or theorists we were in the trenches. Shortlisting candidates at midnight. Chasing hiring managers for feedback. Manually moving applicants from spreadsheets to systems.

And the tools we were given?

Outdated, disconnected, and oddly designed for a world that no longer existed.

We found ourselves spending more time rejecting candidates than engaging the ones we actually wanted to hire. More time coordinating interviews than conducting them. More time stitching together tools than doing the work those tools were supposed to make easier.

So we asked a simple question: What would a hiring platform look like if it were built by the people who actually use it?

The Problem with Today’s Tools
